WHAT FACTORS/SITUATIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES motivate the
PERPETRAITOR
___________________________
1. MOTIVATION: typical anger that can surface, when a
relationship comes to an unwanted end. This is the most common
reason for familicide.
2. NEED FOR POWER: Cohesive control, what one can wear, how
when, where, they wear it. Obsessed with control itself. They
are very accustomed to having the perceived power in the
relationship. When their level of control ebbs and flows,
depending on how disconnected they are from their feelings.
They tend to be deeply humiliated and particularly rageful.
The act of familiicide, is often, in and of itself, an attempt to
re=establish this scene of control. Additionally, to many men,
losing "control" is a threat to their masculinity.
3.PERSONALITY DISORDERS: Sometimes, the perpetrator simply
is "tired" of "having a wife and a family." Typically, when the crime
is committed, their actions can seem psychotic, self-serving, and
always for self-gain. These men see their wives and children
as "possessions." At the times, the perp commits this crime bc
they feel they are somehow a failure at being a family provider.
4. INABILITY OF COPE WITH FAILURE: These perpetrators tend to
come from atypical family styles. Perpetrators who are motived by
these emotions, aren't typically outwardly possessive. Often times,
in fact, the couple have often gone through some kind of financial
strife; not necessarily of anyone's making (ie injury at work). With
these perpetrators , 50% of the time there is a history of
domestic abuse. In the same, 50% of the time, with these
perpetrators, there is NO HISTORY OF DOMESTIC ABUSE. Often
times, the perpetrator has a large amount of shame about
"not being able to provide for the family." You can expect to
see narcissism and a sense of entitlement as personality
traits.

Patterns in the Research
1. almost always pre-meditated
3. perpetrators see victims as a sense of property
3. Control is the one desire the feel and require 100% of
4. When there is a threat, in the perpetrators mind, their
fear of losing control is activated; typically manifesting in
some kind of "acting out" behavior.
5. Tend to be white males, who present as depressed,
are self-righteous, anger and grudges toward others,
paranoia
6. Acting outside the confines of a perp's control means one is in
danger of activating violence in this personality type.
