THE MYRIAD OF WAYS JENN SOTO BETRAYED HER DAUGHTER
THE MYRIAD OF WAYS JENN SOTO BETRAYED HER DAUGHTER
___________________________________________
While no one can FACTUALLY say that Jenn Soto knew ANYTHING about Stephan Stern's true nature, about anything that was occurring. Take her knowledge, or lack there of out of the equation all together. Whether true or false, Jenn Soto, failed her daughter in many complicated ways. To me, arguably, these ways, in which Jenn betrayed her daughter, were tantamount to her death/demise. Here are a few examples:
____________________________________________
1. mother's instability, mentally, prohibits her from being "clear-
minded" , well-thought out decisions on any level. Evidence
reflects that Jenn Soto was barely, if even so, to able to take care
of herself and her needs/mental health. This makes her, by
way of untreated trauma, is neglectful, selfish, and disconnected
from her daughter.
2. Bipolar Diagnosis and ever-fluctuating medication changes
made her decision making even more poor/insight even smaller.
3. Jenn clearly has untreated, outside of medication, PTSD.
She is disconnected, and her trauma, likely sexual, that she still
carries trauma, untreated, with her daily. Now that her daughter
has lost her life, at the hands of THE PREDATOR, Stephan Sterns,
and will compound all the trauma that Jenn was already struggling
to maintain/get ahead of.
4. Jenn was very co-dependent. Predators know this, look for this,
prey on this. She by the nature of her vulnerability, and
availability, of herself, and her daughter, was a target looking
to groom a child. Stephan knew that the way to gain access to
Maddy would be through Jenn. Jenn, with her trauma, lack
of stability, lack of a biological father's presence in Maddy's
life, gave Stephan the means, method, and nothing but
opportunity and time on his hands. He capitalized on the privacy
that he and Madeline had, as a "stepdad stand in" kind of figure.
5. Jenn does not naturally have a maternal instinct. It does not
come naturally and it does come first. I do believe Jenn "loved"
her daughter; but through a lense of instability and a variety of
medications to numb herself/self-soothe.
6. Jenn Soto allowed Stephan to "stick around" despite not
having a job, contributing anything to the household,
and his parents paid his rent. In the "faux family of three",
in Stephan's twisted mind, through his perspective,
this was the perfect opportunistic relationship to act out all
his sexual deviance without any worry of being interrupted
because mom had to work so frequently.
7. Jenn's "accidental"/"unconscious" normalizing of
of opportunity for Stephan to have that availability of
alone time, and lack of safety and supervision to prey
on Jenn's daughter.
8. complicated/ poor communication between mother and daughter. They once were in therapy, as mother and daughter,
to work on "their issues." However, at some point, during that
time, this progress toward mending the relationship. The
counseling sessions stopped upon one of Stephan's return
to their home. He was, as she was, a boundary to mending
their relationship.
