"JOANNE DENNEHEY; THE UNITED KINGDOM'S SPREE KILLER"

PETERSBOROUGH 'DITCH MURDERS"

  A series of murders that took place in Cambridgeshire, England

where three male victims were killed via stab wounds. The men's

bodies were found in ditches. In addition to three victims Joanne

stabbed and injured two others.

VICTIMS

   Kevin Lee was one of Dennehey's victims. He was a property 

developer, landlord, and lover of Dennehey. Lukasz

Slaboszowski, a Polish national, met Joanne bonding over a 

drink and drugs. John Chapman, the last of Joanne's victims,

also happened to be her roommate. Both Lee and Chapman were

killed on March 29, 2013. Dennehey dressed Lee's body in a

black dress before dumping him in a ditch to be discovered.

   After the killings, Dennehey was then driven by friend Gary

Stretch to another town, where she went on to stab two other 

en; both of whom survived. Both surviving men were discovered

by dog walkers

VICTIM SELECTION AND MOTIVES

   Joanne Dennehey was a absent-mother of two children at the

time of her crimes. She specifically targeted men. She made it 

clear to others that she had no desire to kill or harm any women

or children. She stated her desire was to kill a total of 9 men;

she talked about a desire to be like BONNIE AND CLYDE. According

to Joanne, she stabbed all her victims for "entertainment."

It is reported that Joanne told a therapist that after the first killing

she stated that she then "had a good taste for blood."

COURT PROCEEDINGS

   In November 2013, Dennehey plead guilty to all three murders

as well as two attempted murders. Assessing psychiatrists later

diagnosed Dennehey as a psychopathic, anti-social, borderline

personality disorder."

  In February of 2015, Mr. Justice Spencer, the judge, called

Dennehey "cruel, calculating, selfish, manipulative serial killer."

She was sentenced to LIFE in prison. One of only three other 

woman in the UK to receive a life sentence.

ESCAPE PLOT

    While Dennehey was in a Category-A prison in Surrey, UK.

Prison staff noticed/found and escape plot in her diary which

detailed her wishes to kill an officer and cut off their fingers.

Due to the exposure of her escape plot, as punishment, Joanne

was placed in solitary confinement for a period of about two years.

IMPRISONMENT

   After her trial, she requested permission to marry her cell

mate; Hayley Palmer. Sometime in 2018, both women tried to

take their lives together in a "suicide pact."

 In June of 2020, Dennehey was reported to be in a relationship

with another high profile prisoner known as Emma. However,

by May 2021, Dennehey and Palmer were back together and

remain so to this day.
