OBSERVATIONS AND LINGERING QUESTIONS

Breaking Down Jenn and Stephan

(observations)

1. NEARLY everything in her entire home is white. It has a 

suggestion of a lack of cognitive complexity.

2. Stephan double-dosed Maddie, on her sleeping meds,

the night of her murder. That puts Stephan in the ultimate

position of POWER AND CONTROL. Bc, that Sunday night, under

the conditions, that had Maddie isolated with Stephan,

her life was LITERALLY in his hands.

3. The condo has a very UN-LIVED in feel to it.

4. Stephan moved away (back home with his parents) on

December 23, 2023. His parents say he had visited TWICE after 

that. At the time of Maddy's death, Stephan and Jenn were

broken up. Mom speaks of their "relationship" as one of a

"reliable friendship/babysitter."

5. When there is TRAUMA, PTSD, or potential SHOCK it's

impossible for any outside person to know what role ANY of

these variables played in her responses to information unfolding.

Nor can we know if she was on medication in any of the interviews;

my guess would be more likely than not on a sedative.

6. To Sterns, Madeline is objectified and tossed away in death

"like trash" when he was disposing of her body.

7. Why was Stephan carrying two guns on him/near him?

Did he go to shooting ranges? Did he hunt? Were they

tools of intimidation?

8. Impasse at did she know vs did she not know. What people

may know, may in fact, not be able to be proven it is known.

She failed her daughter, but to what degree?

9. Stephan was a control freak

10. Predators are excellent at selecting their prey. They

can spot the opportunity and availability rather early on.

Did he target both Jenn and Maddie, or was Maddie who

he was primarily attracted to?

11. Fears can be be very irrational, but felt nonetheless, by

someone having experienced trauma, RA*E, etc. Fear follows

irrationality in a cycle/pattern.

12. In a more modern era in terms of digital forensics, CCTV, etc.

filming/photographing one's own crimes serves as a trophy,

it serves as currency to trade similar materials with like-minded

individuals. Ironically, so too, in a modern era, recording one's

crimes, on their cell phone, was eventually WHAT ensured

he was caught for his abusive sexual behavior with a child.

QUESTIONS THAT I CONTINUE TO HAVE

1. What prompted Sterns to 'show up' if he wasn't allowed to

attend Maddy's birthday party? Clearly, he had told/given his

parents the impression that the party was the REASON he was

driving up to Jenn's to begin with. Knowing, while lying to

his parents, that Jenn's extended family did not care for him

and did not invite him to the party. Do we know for a fact

that he was NOT invited?

2. What conversations transpired between Maddie and Stephan

on Saturday evening; the evening before her party?

What was really said? Madeline, according to friends,

was "stressed out" after this call. Chris and Debra Sterns

noticed a high difference in Stephan's level of heightened

anxiety. He told his parents he was "overwhelmed." No more

specific than that.

3. Was Maddy starting to understand what had really been

happening to her after all these years? Her her notebook there

were graphic drawings of sex acts, and some references to

trauma, PTSD, fear, point to her better understanding that what

was happening to her was not ok.

4. The drawings (graphic sexual ones) were, as I understand it,

left out in the open. Could this have been a plea for help?

Could it have been a trigger for Stephan? Could Maddy turning

13 symbolize to Sterns that Maddy had "aged out?"

5. When Maddie was slumped over (as the police stated), did 

Stephan use the dog leash to clip somewhere on her clothing,

to keep her from falling over completely?  Did it keep her

somewhat is propped up.

6. Are their other child victims? Most sex offenders do

not begin in their late thirties. Instead, they tend to start

in later teenage years. Inappropriate bx, becomes a pattern,

and build up more and more. 

7. Because of Jenn's cocktail of meds did she MISPERCEIVE

the closeness of her relationship with her daughter?
