ASSASSINATION OF A CEO; the Lone Wolf's love of Incels
ASSASSINATION OF A CEO; the lone wolf's love of INCELS
___________________________________________
As we have come to know, the C.E.O., of United Health Care,
50-year-old Brian Thompson, was murdered in mid-town
Manhattan at 6:30 a.m. in a targeted attack that took his life.
If there is one thing that is certain, there was nothing ordinary
about Thompson's murder. It happened in public, the suspect
purchased items from Starbucks before shooting, and bled the
scene by bicycle. Even more extraordinary, was the response
of Americans across the country. Responses on "X" have been
flagrantly lawless. From jokes on social media, and praise for
the "terrorist". The shooter counted on the sympathy. He uses
it to his manipulative advantage.
Responses from the American people, were met with hate as
expressed by shooter. His only "clever" move, if there is such a
thing, is the suspect's pointing out the flaws and frustrations
with the health care system. Anger toward Brian Thompson,
specifically, is transferred hate, as though the failings of the
Health Care System fell on the shoulders of one man. A country
rich with divisions and violence at its roots and history. It seems
that EQUALITY, the idea of "justice for all" would be INCLUSIVE
not DEVISIVE. Equality is also a moral truth, that we can choose,
to hold ourselves, and for others. Where, in the history, of this
"Great Nation", has it/will it ever be ok to NORMALIZE murder.
If you believe his murder was right and just, then you open the
door for your murder, and murder's you might choose to commit
as acceptable. Everything is vindictive, without grace, forgiveness,
and is full of justifications and excuses. Do you, the reader,
deserve to be violently murdered/assassinated for your
profession? People conflate issues, they over-identity with an
unhinged man's list of grievances. The issues of health care in our
country, and its need for reform are undeniable but are certainly
NOT a new phenomenon. The suspect's issues became conflated,
and intertwined itself with both righteous and unrighteous anger.
The shooter, in his #manifesto (all lone wolf shooters through
history have left manifestos) and were incels. While the suspect
was very book smart, the real issue that he could not tackle was
ways he fit/didn't fit into modern society. This is a very familiar
crime pattern amongst these lone wolf terrorists. They feel the
world has slighted "THEM" over and over. Despite no proof or
evidence of this being true. Brian Thompson's body has yet to
be laid to rest in the earth, and the country's need to feel
somehow vindicated by the actions of a malcontent who felt
he was a "victim of the world around him."
The fact remains that the average American DOES NOT
broadly understand insurance company policies, claims,
reimbursement, etc. Many, many Americas, as a normal part of
the healthcare experience, have to deal with delays and denials.
FOR MOST Americans, however, delays are a matter of annoyance.
Meaning a person may have to make a few extra phone calls,
and AT WORST, money that could have been spent well elsewhere.
For people without money (which the shooter came from
millions), a denied insurance claim can in fact instantly change
the trajectory of one's life and quality of. Those WITHOUT MONEY
face bankruptcy, misery, pain suffering, and reduced quality
of life. For those SMALL majority of Americans, they are true
social injustices. At this time, in American history, we continue
to become numb to, or normalize acts of violence; of murder.
Violence is vengeance. A symbolic, at best, elimination of the
entire health care industry was taken out on one man; Brian
Thompson ? Does every American have United Health Insurance?
No. Do all insurance companies follow similar business plans?
Yes.
Lastly, this suspect was APPROVED, clearly, for the surgery
he had on his back from the x-ray on his Twitter page. Though
on his Twitter page there is no mention of grievances about
healthcare. He rants about falling birthrates in Japan, how
women need to "breed more", and articles that pity the majority;
white men. He became self-radicalized and isolated from his
friends and family. They wouldn't or didn't support his contempt,
his hate for the world and the "humans" in it; most of whom he
saw himself as far better than.
With the shooter trying to now allege "DEBILITATING BACK
PAIN." For me, a chronic pain sufferer, with the Suicide Disease,
that's SO insulting. When did men with "debilitating back pain"
go to the gym everyday, walk 50 city blocks, bike 50 city blocks,
and run from the crime. My pain is debilitating; I wouldn't be
able to travel by bus bc of pain. I couldn't WALK two city blocks
without pain. I sure as hell cannot walk or bike 50 city blocks.
I'm fortunate if I have "good hours" in a single day.
This shooter is lost and confused; holding to rigid and fringe
beliefs, and an inability to MOVE forward in his life, and manage
his anger at "perceived slights." What the research bears out
about lone wolf attackers, is that they are almost always single
white males, with a hate for society, and their own "perceived"
slights from anyone. He was a "nobody" who was a smart guy.
That didn't fulfill him. He was malcontent with the world. Many
nobodies can become "somebody" by a high profile murder;
tying their name, to their crime, in infamy, in history books yet
to be written. (sidetone, our killer literally pissed his pants when
he was arrested). He is nothing like the persona he has. He is
NOBODY who feels he should be SOMEBODY.
